Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle (180g) (LP)
180g Vinyl Remastered from Original Source Tapes by Bob Ludwig
Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 345/500
The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, released on September 11, 1973. Bruce Springsteens sophomore album featured a more cinematic style of songwriting, with the kind of outsized suburban characters that would become Springsteens calling card (4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy), Incident on 57th Street, Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)). It also featured a crucial sonic addition to the nascent E Street Band: organist Danny Federici joined keyboardist David Sancious, bassist Garry Tallent, drummer Vini Mad Dog Lopez and saxophonist Clarence Clemons in the bands ranks.
"...the album's songs contain the best realization of Springsteen's poetic vision, which soon enough would be tarnished by disillusionment. He would later make different albums, but he never made a better one. The truth is, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle is one of the greatest albums in the history of rock & roll." -William Ruhlmann, allmusic.com
